Ontario Provincial Police with the Central Hastings detachment are investigating an off-road vehicle incident that left one man dead. On April 7, just before 3:30 p.m., emergency personnel were called to a trail north of Cleveland Rd. in Tudor and Cashel Township. Just off the trail, a side-by-side, off-road vehicle was rolled over in deep water.

According to police, officers and firefighters at the scene managed to free the man, however, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead. The unnamed 65-year-old man was identified by police as a resident of Prince Edward County.

The Hastings Heritage Trail is a popular route used by off-road vehicle enthusiasts, hikers, and horseback riders.
